Serious Tension As FUTMINNA Students Set Campus On Fire Over Colleague's Death

Students of the Federal University of Technology (FUTMINNA) , Bosso Campus in Niger state, have defiled law and order this morning as they set the campus ablaze following the death of a male student.

The 300 level, male student was said to have died due alleged to negligence of the school clinic staff.

Narrating the sad story, one of the students who spoke with newsmen noted that the deceased was rushed to the school clinic after passing out while playing football at the school field in Bosso Campus.

Another student said that the clinic staff were allegedly reluctant in attending to the student because of the ID Card menace policy.

As at when this report was filed, some female students were said to have been trapped in their Hostel, the clinic burnt down and other properties vandalised while protest is still ongoing.

The Management of the Federal University of Technology, Minna has approved a 2-week mid-semester break for all students of the institution with immediate effect.

Consequently, all students are to vacate the two campuses latest by 4:00 pm Thursday the 16th of February, 2017.

Academic activities resume on Thursday the 2nd of March, 2017
